EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

MA: SOCIOLOGY, THE GEORGE WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY

August 2015 - August 2017

As a Sociology major at GWU, I took a full course load focusing on the theories, concepts and methodologies of the social science subject. I was a TA for the Sociology of Education course, and completed a Master Thesis, titled: “Degree Attainment of Black Women at 4-year Institutions in Relation to Support Services," with supervision by Dr. Dameon V. Alexander. It aimed to identify correlations and risk factors associated with the gap between enrollment and degree completion of Black women through a correlational quantitative analysis of 91 higher education institutions in the United States, by comparing programs that specifically target the needs of this population with institutions that have less specific support services for Black women.

BA: ANTHROPOLOGY, WRIGHT STATE UNIVERSITY

While attending Wright State University, I was a full-time student majoring in Anthropology with a focus on Cultural Anthropology. I also took advanced courses in French, held the positions of Historian and Treasurer of the WSU Anthropology Club, and also held two part-time work-study positions.
